This Week at Hosmer
Note from Ms. Moulton
Good Afternoon, Hosmer Families,
What a wonderful Cultural Celebration Week we had last week! An enormous thank you to everyone who helped to make it happen, especially our amazing teachers and staff and the many family members who contributed food for the potluck and shared their cultures in the World Showcase. A few pictures are shared below but there are many more on our social media pages.
Parents of Kindergarten Students
Please note that there is no school for students in Kindergarten this Friday, June 2nd as we will be conducting screening for Incoming students. Please plan accordingly.
Fifth Grade Growth and Development/Puberty Lesson
The week of May 30th, your fifth-grade student will participate in a Growth and Development/Puberty Lesson as it relates to the Massachusetts Frameworks and the National Sex Education Standards, as part of their Physical Education/Wellness curriculum. The Growth and Development lesson will discuss the physical, social, and emotional changes that begin to occur during puberty. Please click this link for more information, including a link to the video that will be used and an opt-out form.
Playground Use After School
We have had a number of students staying to play in the park after school. It is important for safety that there is active adult supervision.
Please also help us to reinforce the same expectations after school that we enforce during school. These include: not picking up/throwing rocks, staying within the fenced-in areas, and being kind to one another. Thank you for your support in this.
Looking ahead to Next Year
If you are moving out of Watertown, please let us know so that we can plan accordingly by contacting Janet Shaw at janet.shaw@watertown.k12.ma.us
