MYP update of the week
This week, we are celebrating students who made the honor roll during first quarter. These students are demonstrating the IB Learner Profile traits will help them be successful in the rest of their academic careers and become responsible members of local, national, and global communities.
This week at Ramsey
Ms. Fontana's ELA Workshop 7 students took the OLPA reading test this week. We also read a short story called, "The Treasure of Lemon Brown" by Walter Dean Myers and started to use a strategy called a One-Pager to analyze the story.
The Ramsey Math Team just finished their 3rd meet last Monday. Ramsey mathletes are learning lots of math and having fun competing. The Ramsey Math Team will be hosting meet #4 at Ramsey on Monday, December 19th. Team Ramsey remains in third place. Good job Team Ramsey! Any student interested in joining math team, please see Ms. H in room 0109. All grades welcome.
This week in 8th grade American studies french immersion we did small group presentations on the causes of the civil war. After that we read texts about the things that happened during the civil war and the reconstruction of the country after the war was over.
In French immersion class this week we continued to read more of the book we have been working on called "La Vie En Noir Et Blanc," life in black and white, which is about Apartheid in South Africa. We also worked on the spelling of words in French.
A special note about iPads

From Our Social Workers - As cold weather is approaching it reminds us that there are students who are not fully outfitted with warm weather gear (and then there are those that refuse and only want to wear a hoodie, like mine!) and that some of us may have items we could donate. We are looking to set aside a small store of winter jackets and hoodies, hats, gloves, and mittens. If you have gently used items and care to donate please drop them off with Kris Knetsch or nurse Maureen, in the nurse's office. All sizes welcome! Thanks!
