Alexander was born on march 3, 1847 in Edinburgh. He invented the first telephone. He had 4 kids. He did important work in communication for the deaf and held more than 18 patents.

The purpose of the telephone

The telephones purpose was for deaf people. Deaf people can hear with the phone. You could use the phone to call people instead of going to there house. Also the telephone was invented on 1876!

The telephone was important to the industrial revolution because you could communicate easier with companies that manufacturer goods and products. The telephone improved way of life because you could call and order something on the phone rather to go in person.
