News from CPE
Hello CPE Families,
INTENT FORMS DUE TOMORROW!
Hello Families,
As you have read, we are coming back to live in-person learning for our K-2 students. Please read the district email or visit the district website for details. It is critical that all kindergarten, first and second grade families turn in the intent form regarding whether you want to continue with remote learning, or come back in-person two days a week hybrid. Families must turn in the questionnaire by Tuesday at midnight or your student will automatically be assigned in person. Please click here for the attached video if you’re interested in understanding what in person learning will look like at College Place Elementary.
What will Hybrid learning look like:
Students will go to school Monday and Thursday OR Tuesday and Friday from 9:00 am-3:00 pm.
The days they are not in school they will be mainly doing independent work, but they will have live zoom with a PE, library or music teacher.
Some students will get support from reading or EL teachers on those days.
Wednesdays will be the same as they are now, with teacher office hours.
What safety precautions are you going to put in place for live learning?
All students will wear masks
Students will stay with their class cohort and not cross pollinate.
Students and staff will practice social distancing.
All students will be asked to wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently.
The classrooms are set up with student desks or work areas 6 feet apart.
All line up areas are marked with 6 feet indicators.
Recess and play structures will be open, with adults reminding students to social distance.
Can I keep my student’s teacher?
There is no guarantee that students will remain with their teacher, but this is a priority. If your teacher is returning and your student is returning, we will try to keep them together. If your teacher is staying remote and the student is staying remote, we will try to keep them together. To help us best solve this puzzle, it is critical you turn in your intent form.
We believe school learning is great for students' social emotional health and learning. Hybrid is not ideal, but it is how we can keep students and teachers safe. If you have any questions about this model or your choice please call the office.
Thanks for your continued support.
Ms. Crum

Attendance/Truancy Information
Attendance and Truancy during COVID-Attendance Matters
Schools are taking attendance during remote learning and marking absences as excused or unexcused. Contact the school if your child participated in remote learning, even if it wasn’t a live class, and you don’t think the school knows. If your child was not able to participate because of COVID-related problems, contact the school to excuse their absences. It is important that you communicate with your teacher and your school to get the support you need.
School Attendance line 425-431-3919 call to report your student absent. If you know your child will be absent, please call and leave a message. Our registrar checks messages everyday. You can also let the teacher know about your child being absent.

Natural Leaders Bi-Weekly Meetings on Wednesdays
Natural Leaders serve as multi-cultural bridges between students, families, communities, and schools. Research has consistently shown students’ success to be highly correlated with the level of their parent engagement. When parents are involved, students achieve more, regardless of socio-economic status, ethnic/racial background, or the parents’ education level.
Every meeting has different topics and we’ll have many opportunities to learn together. For more information please contact Carmen Ziranda 425-431-2420 or fill out the form below to receive a calendar with the dates and times.
Next Meeting: February 24, 2021 @11:00 am. Learn how to navigate the District and school’s web page. Learn some tricks using Gmail and create a google doc.

Coronavirus Pandemic EBT (P-EBT)
Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) for the 2021 federal fiscal year. OSPI Child Nutrition Services is awaiting details on who will be eligible for benefits and how to implement the updated P-EBT program.
One thing we know for sure is that the Pandemic P-EBT will be issued for families who qualify for free and reduced meals. If families have not yet submitted an application for this school year but would qualify, the sooner they get the application in the more months they will qualify for Pandemic EBT funds.
It is imperative for families to make sure they have the correct mailing address with the school because checks will be auto issued this time to qualifying families at their address in skyward. If you have any questions please contact your school FRA.
