Hello LCP! Hope you had a restful weekend. Have a happy Thanksgiving Holiday and enjoy spending time with your family.

This year, we are decorating a Christmas tree in the cafeteria called, “The Children’s Tree.” Our theme is “candy” non-edible and can include such items as candy canes, cupcakes, lollipops, gumdrops, gingerbread, etc. We are asking families to donate one ornament to add to “The Children’s Tree.” We will keep the ornaments to use year after year. Please bring the ornaments to the office between November 14, 2022 and December 2, 2022. We are excited to prepare for the Christmas season.

Hello Lubbock-Cooper South Elementary Families,

We have officially kicked off the Kids Heart Challenge adventure with the American Heart Association, and we need your help! Over the next few weeks students will be learning about their heart, raising awareness and funds for the American Heart Association. Our school's goal is to raise $3,500 and for every student to complete Finn's Mission.

The Adventure started today with your student(s) watching this video at school.

Step 1. Visit our school’s Kids Heart Challenge page: OR download the Kids Heart Challenge App for iPhone or Android to search for our school and sign up!

Step 2. Complete Finn’s Mission – this will be your map!

Your student will collect gems along the way, including their own Heart Heroes and more. You can check these out on the KHC envelope your student is bringing home today.

Every kid that raises $100 will get to SLIME Coach Anger with DRAGON SNOT SLIME!! Every kid that raises $150 will get to SLIME Mr. Funk with DRAGON SNOT SLIME!!

Find out how you can complete Finn's Mission with your family!

For every $50 of lifesaving donations that students raise, they will earn a Mystery Gift!* (Up to 20 mystery gifts) It’s a surprise to see what’s inside!

Why we support the American Heart Association: Every 40 seconds someone in America suffers from a stroke. Complete Finn’s Mission to learn how your family can recognize and react to a stroke FAST … because when it comes to stroke every minute matters!

Thank you for joining us and helping us save lives!

Good afternoon Lubbock Cooper South!!

We are doing a great job with our Kids Heart Challenge so far – we’ve raised $351.70 so far with 29 students online, last year we raised $2,993 with 38 students online. I KNOW we can beat our goal of $3,500 this year if we just keep pushing to raise lifesaving funds!!

BREAKING NEWS: Any student who raises money online by Monday is entered into a drawing for a prize pack with playground balls, jump rope, fun toys and pe equipment!! ALSO, as a reminder – Every kid that raises $100 will get to SLIME Coach Anger, and every kid that raises $150 will get to SLIME Mr. Funk!!

If you haven’t had a chance to donate, THERE IS STILL TIME!! Many students have made fun videos for parents social media letting friends and family know why they raise money for the American Heart Association, or texted these videos out to friends and family via the Kids Heart Challenge app, called Kids Heart Challenge in the app store.

We have our awesome heart heroes to hand out AND MYSTERY GIFTS (which students earn for every $50 they raise) to your students as they raise these lifesaving funds, and hopefully they are excited about each heroes’ message of kindness and heart health! Please consider going online or via the app to make or request final donations, and remember you can bring in your envelope with donations raised as well!!

Thank you – let’s get Cooper South to our BEST YEAR EVER!!
