Launching the 2021-2022 School Year
Our Lockhart Lions were #LockedOnExcellence as they launched the school year this week. We are so grateful to have our students back in school!
The Domitila H & Timoteo Juárez Sr, Excellence in Education Fund Donates 450 Backpacks
This morning, Timoteo Tim Juarez Jr., Domitila Juarez, and Rene Rayos of “The Domitila H & Timoteo Juárez Sr, Excellence in Education Fund” donated 450 backpacks, which will be distributed with the help of elementary campus principals and counselors to students in need. As students continue to register for school, the donation is timely. The district is grateful for these donations and years of support to help our students prepare to be #LockedOnExcellence
Mr. Juarez shared, “Since 2000, my brothers and sisters started the Excellence in Education Fund, and they named it after my parents Domitila H & Timoteo Juárez, Sr. In 2009, we decided that in order for students to be successful, we needed to help those who were young in age, so that year, we started a partnership with Lockhart ISD campus elementary principals, and started providing school supplies to the five elementary campuses. These last couple of years, the district has provided school supplies, so this year, we wanted to find a way to fill in the gap. The Fund decided we would do backpacks for the elementary students to be successful. Our whole mission in the Excellence in Education Fund is student success. 100% of our effort goes to that. We are always pleased to be in partnership with Lockhart ISD, and we look forward to the continued effort between both entities.”
Mr. Rayos added, “We, the Excellence in Education Fund, want to ensure that every child in school has a backpack to be successful! We wanted to give back to our district and the students that mean so much to us.”
