Winter Party Information
Mrs. Patton will share with Room Mom Chairperson
- Room moms must visit with their teacher to see what the teacher would like done
- and the teacher’s party plans/expectations. The party is at the teacher’s discretion
- and all ideas must be approved by the teacher/grade level.
- Each class on the grade level will do the same thing. Ex: game and snack or game,
- craft, snack. It does not have to be the same food, game or craft but must be comparable. Ex: One class having pizza and the other class having chips is not comparable.
- The actual party will be about 45 minutes in length with 15 minutes to clean up, breakdown, and allow parents to leave the classroom so teachers and students can prepare for dismissal.
- Room moms/helpers must set up and clean up.
- Set up for parties may not interfere with instruction and must take place when students are not in the classroom. Room moms must work with the classroom teacher to determine the set up time.
- No homemade food items. Parents may send a homemade item for their child if the child’s needs warrant this.
- Room moms must check with the classroom teacher for class allergies prior to requesting food items from parents.
- Students may be signed out from the classroom using the sign out sheet provided by the teacher.
- Our campus policy is that preschool children and/or visiting school aged guests may not attend class parties or field trips. Preschool (before school) – infants, toddlers, preschool, etc.
- Parents may not bring preschool children and/or visiting school aged guests to visit while the parent is working in classrooms.
Teacher Notes for Winter Party
- Teachers/Grade Levels will set the time for room moms/helpers to set up for the party. Set up may not interfere with instruction and may not take place while students are in the classrooms.
- Students will be signed out from the classrooms. The teacher MUST check Skyward to ensure that the person taking the student has rights to do so. If unsure, send the adult to the office and you will be called to dismiss the student. Sign in sheets will be turned in to Mrs. Grossklaus before leaving for the day.
- The office staff will make an announcement that the party is over to so teachers can prepare for dismissal. It is up to the teacher to ask adults to leave after the announcement.
- Teachers will add campus policy on preschool children and/or visiting school aged guests to newsletters next week and the week of the parties.
- Our campus policy is that preschool children and/or visiting school aged guests may not attend class parties or field trips. Preschool (before school) – infants, toddlers, preschool, etc.
- Parents may not bring preschool children and/or visiting school aged guests to visit while the parent is working in classrooms.
- Also add to newsletters that any dismissal prior to 3:30 is an early release and will be entered on the student’s attendance record.
- If you have students that do not celebrate the holiday, they can come to the office. The teacher is responsible for sending the student to the office with something to work on-please make it fun and something other than a book.
- Be aware of classroom allergies so you can share with room moms. Room moms should not know the names of students with allergies (confidential) only the allergies in the room. If you are unsure, see the nurse. If you have new students, check with the nurse.
- Fast Pass will be utilized to allow parents to RSVP for the parties. Badges will be printed for them to avoid the long lines. Hold returned reservation forms in your classroom until Wed., December 16.
