Travis Pastrana

Early Life
Travis Pastrana was born on Oct. 8, 1983 in Annapolis, Maryland.When he was 4 years old for Christmas his Dad got him a Honda Z-50. His Father taught him the technique to riding. At the end of motocross races he would wait to get autographs. He soon started to compeat on his own. He was the first to start preforming daring tricks during his races. Travis soon started to dominate. He won 5 amateur Nat. Championships between 1992-1999.
Career
He soon became interested with what he doing. At the age of 14 he became the World Freestyle Champ. 1999 he entered in his first pro race it was the Rose Bowl Supercross in Pasadena California. He was 16 when he took 1st. In 2000 he won 5 AMA events. With his success he won the AMA Rookie of the Year. In 2000 he competed in the Motocross des Nations in France. He raced with Ricky Carmichael and Ryan Hughes. He helped the U.S. win the race.

Injuries
In the 2000 Gravity Games he seriously injured his knee he spent months recovering. By 2002 Travis had broken 30 bones, 12 operations, and 10 concussions. Some of the injuries prevented him from racing. On June 2003 he got in a bad wreck. He also crashed while doing a backflip during the Gravity Games. He wants to return to full time .motocross
The Reason
The reason I picked Travis is because he is daring. Like in his quote he will try any thing know matter what. He is a pretty cool guy he practices as hard as he can. I think he has a positive effect on this world. There are also some pretty cool thing about him he like Rock music and his favorite food is Ice Cream. His friends call him TP and his special talent in Mountain Biking.
