GIVE Center East Family,

It is hard to believe that we're 7 days away from starting school! Our teachers and staff have been back at work this week getting ready for our virtual start and cannot wait to kick off another great year of teaching and learning. Throughout all of the uncertainty that surrounds this school year, rest assured that our staff is committed to being a constant source of support and will work daily to develop genuine, productive relationships with your family. Having said that, our expectations for both digital and in-person learning have been enhanced to provide a more positive experience for students, parents, and teachers. I want to communicate those enhancements and other best practices today so that all of our families are aware and know what to expect as we begin our school year. Virtual Open House: Monday, August 10th: Live Q&A Session from 1-3pm

Our traditional and important Open House will look different this year. We will be offering a virtual opportunity for students and parents to meet their teachers. On Thursday August 6th, student schedules will be posted on the GCPS Student Portal. You will use your student's schedule to complete very important tasks before the official start of school:


Welcome Video:

1) On Monday, August 10th, beginning at 8am, all students will be able to visit each teachers’ eClass page and watch a short welcome and orientation video. Teacher videos can also be found on the Staff Directory of GIVE East Website.


Advisement Activity:

2) To ensure that ALL students can successfully access our eClass platform at the same time, we are hosting a trial login on Monday, August 10th at 11:00am. During this time we have a brief, but very important survey we need all students to complete. Please have your student use their schedule to identify their Advisement teacher. On their Advisement teacher's (2nd period) eClass page there will be specific directions for completing the survey that will help GIVE Center East better support each student.


Although this is not the same as in-person, it is important that you have an opportunity to hear from your child’s teachers.

If your GIVE Center East student is in need of a Chromebook, please contact us at, 770-338-4855 to reserve an appointment time. Pick up dates (appointment ONLY) are Thursday, August 6th through Tuesday, August 11th (excluding Saturday and Sunday) between the hours of 8-12.
