The Board of Education provides a "Board Meeting Summary" after each Board meeting. The summary includes a brief description of the main topics and action items. These summaries are not meant to replace minutes. The minutes for each meeting are approved and posted after the next regularly scheduled meeting. We hope these summaries provide some basic information and context around the reports, presentations and action items. The Superintendent and Board President and Board Recording Secretary were present at the meeting location in accordance with the OMA; all other members of the Board and staff attended remotely

Recognition: Student Board Members
This is the last meeting for Ashlynn Kousgaard and Abbie Herbold. Dr. Melissa Kaczkowski thanked the two student Board members for their service. Board members and administrators thanked them for a job well done.
Recovery Plan Update | watch
Dr. Kaczkowski shared that Governor Pritzker released the Restore Illinois Phase 4 Guidelines. This goes into effect on Friday, June 26 She is hopeful that the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) will release their guidelines very soon so that the district can accelerate the work on the reopening/recovery plan.

Parent Teacher Advisory Committee
Benjamin Franklin Elementary School Principal Jeff Burke presented an update of the PTAC throughout the school year. Board members asked follow up questions of Mr. Burke about his presentation.
Preliminary Draft 2020/21 Budget | watch
Assistant Superintendent for Finance, Facilities and Operations Eric DePorter presented
the tentative budget for review. He highlighted the budget and answered questions.
