Getting Ready to Re-Launch
In his book Good to Great Jim Collin says "Sustainable transformation follow a predictable pattern of buildup and breakthrough. Like pushing on a giant, heavy flywheel, it takes a lot of effort to get the thing moving at all, but with persistent pushing in a consistent direction over a long period of time, the flywheel build momentum, eventually hitting a point of breakthrough."
After a much deserved holiday break during this second semester, we must come together to start pushing again on the giant flywheel in order to establish the momentum needed to ensure a successful second semester. Together we will review our campus action plan and the state's accountability system. These two will help us stay focused on the task ahead of student success.
During the first weeks of the second semester I will be meeting with grade level members, leadership team, instructional coaches, interview committee, parents and community members, etc. I want to hear from all stakeholders that make up the Richland Rocket family. I am here to continue on the legacy of success of our great school.

January 4, 2016 Site-Based Staff Development Agenda
Tomorrow in the afternoon, I will be meeting with the different grade levels. I will be using a "3,2,1" model to facilitate our conversation and dialogue. The model is as follows:
- 3 Praises
Teachers will let me know what is great at Richland (1 praise for the school as a whole
and 2 praises specific to your grade level)
- 2 Questions
They can be professional-something you would like to know to continue growing
professionally, or you can ask me a question to get to know me better)
- 1 Polish
What is one thing that we might want to look into to make Richland even better
