An update before the end of term (July 2018)

Staffing Changes

At the end of this term we will be saying goodbye to a few members of staff. It is always sad to say goodbye to friends and colleagues who have done so much to support us on our journey, but now they too have new things to look ahead to.

Miss Barnes, our current Foundation leader will be taking up the post of Vice Principal over at Charles Warren Academy in Simpson. We wish her every success.

Mrs Brindle, who has been with us at Heronshaw for 17 years is also taking up a key stage two teaching role at Charles Warren Academy.

Mrs Errington, based in Foundation is leaving us after many years and will be supporting her husband with their family business.

Mrs Northover, who has been working in both Foundation and in the office throughout this year, will be joining the team over at Jumpstart.

Mrs Cusk, who has supported in a wide range of roles across the school is moving on to become a teaching assistant.

In September, Mrs Nichols and Miss Joyce will be joining our team. Mrs Nichols has already done a lot of work in school over the past few years so the children are very familiar with her. All staff who are here in September will get to meet their new classes before the end of term.

End of year Celebration

This year we have been celebrating success for children and staff in a variety of ways.

Heronshaw Houses
We are almost at the end of our first year with our Heronshaw Houses. The children in Furzton (red), Tongwell (blue), Willen (green) and Caldecotte (yellow) have all worked incredibly hard to earn gems each week to fill their team jars. The points from each of the three terms will be added together, along with the two sports day totals and then the grand winner will be announced. The house captains of the winning team will be awarded the house cup. Good luck everyone!

Star of the Week
In class, children can earn points for great work, good effort, tidying, being helpful and much more. The daily totals are added together giving a winner at the end of the week. This winner is the class 'Star of the week'. We are already looking into how this can be taken even further next year and we will be informing parents about this in September.

Don't forget to check the website and Twitter for ongoing updates.
