Stage Notes

East Lincoln High School Chorus & Theatre Newsletter

January 2022

The Stage Notes Newsletter is published the first of every month and contains lots of information about both the Theatre Arts and Choral Music programs at East Lincoln High School. We want to try not only to get the word out about upcoming performances, but also to keep our community up-to-date on what our students are doing and how they can partner with us to produce the highest quality programs.

If you have friends, family, or neighbors who would enjoy this monthly look into theatre and chorus, share with them our website, www.EastLincolnOnStage.org, and they can sign up to receive the newsletter at the bottom of any page.

Thanks for being a part of our performing arts community!

Lumiere will be welcoming guests on Saturday, February 26 at 11 am. The concluding performance will begin at 2 pm. An adult and student ticket package can be purchased for $50, and additional students may be added for $30. Grab your tickets before they are gone at www.eastlincolnonstage.org/tickets.

A Christmas Story Was A HIT!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for one of the performances of A Christmas Story! We had a wonderful time and feel honored that you included us in your holiday plans.

Chair Numbers & Custom Plates Look AMAZING!

The finishing touches were placed on the Black Box chairs for the opening of A Christmas Story! Thanks to the generosity and helpfulness of Kristian Matz from Kirk & Matz Fine Awards & Gifts, it is not only easier to find your seat, but we were also able to recognize and honor many important individuals in our performing arts family and school community.

Below is a sample chair with its new plates, as well as a list of the custom plates from our chair sponsors.

Thanks again to everyone who made this project possible. You made our space much more special and comfortable!

Select East Lincoln StageHANDS As Your Amazon Smile Chairty!

We are always looking for ways that our community can support our programs at no cost to them. Amazon Smile is one of those programs. The amount Amazon donates is small, but every dollar can make a difference.

What do you need to know?

  • If you select East Lincoln StageHANDS as your charity, 0.5% of your purchases will be donated to our not-for-profit booster organization.
  • If you order online, you MUST make sure that you start at SMILE.AMAZON.COM rather than the regular amazon.com. There is no difference in the sites other than one donates to our program and the other does not.
  • If you use the AMAZON APP on your phone, you must ENABLE AMAZON SMILE in the app. Just go to SETTINGS, select AMAZON SMILE, and turn it on for your phone.

That is all there is to it. We would love for you to help us spread the word to friends and family who may not already be supporting a charity through their Amazon purchases.

We are so grateful to the local businesses and organizations who sponsored and advertised with us for 2021! When you have the chance to support these businesses, please do, and let them know how much you appreciate their support of the performing arts at East Lincoln!

We will soon begin sending out sponsorship and advertisement information for 2022. We look forward to partnering with more of our local businesses and organizations as we continue to grow the performing arts programs at East Lincoln!

Did you know that one piece of music for a choir of 20 costs $55 making the total cost for a concert around $500?

Did you know that it costs around $2,000 for rights, royalties, and materials for a musical production? Those costs do not include costumes, sets, make-up, special effects, or musicians. Straight plays are a bit cheaper, but still, have some of the same monetary needs.

While expensive, these productions are amazing and wonderful laboratory settings for students to act, create, and collaborate all while learning a plethora of skills that will serve them both in the arts and in their future academic and professional endeavors.

That's where YOU come in! We are currently beginning our search for sponsors and advertisers for 2020. Each advertisement and sponsorship support FOUR CHORAL CONCERTS and FOUR MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS while placing your ad in over 2000 hands! With the inclusion of Beauty and the Beast in early 2022, we anticipate that number to only increase!

If you, your friend, or family member would consider partnering with us for 2022, please follow the links below. This information can also be found on our website at eastlincolnonstage.org/sponsor. Please complete the online form and you may mail payment to the school or pay electronically with credit card, Venmo, and CashApp.

If you have any questions about our programs, the levels of partnership, or how the funds are used, please contact Mr. Franklin.

We look forward to seeing your businesses and organizations in our 2022 programs and playbills!
