We wanted to take some time to acknowledge those students that went above and beyond the required two hour minimum of community service. Caleb James Shugart (6th Grade)
Caleb attends Erwin Middle School and has completed a total of 36 hours of community service performing the following activities: Gold Hill VFD Auxiliary, and Gold Hill Fire Department.
Emmalyn June Sides (7th Grade)
Emmalyn attends China Grove Middle School and has completed a total of 179.25 hours of community service performing the following activities: Cub Scouts, CGMS PTA, Day Camp Volunteer, Demn Chief, and Santa's Workshop.
Kaitlyn Nicole Kuehl (8th Grade)
Kaitlyn attends China Grove Middle School and has completed a total of 312.50 hours of community service performing the following activities: Church Youth Missionary, Main Street's Christmas Store, and Writing "Thank You" Letters to Teachers at CLMS.
Reya Elise Shaw (9th Grade)
Reya attends North Rowan High School and completed a total of 88 hours of community service performing the following activities: Rowan County College Fair, Halloween Fun Fest, Minds and Motion Summer Camp, MLK Parade, Volley Camp, Sole Hope Care Packaging, and Games with Salisbury Parks & Recreation.
Theodore Roosevelt Oglesby (10th Grade)
Theodore attends Salisbury High School and completed a total of 160 hours of community service performing the following activities: Minds in Motion Summer Camp, Shakers Dance, TRD-RCPRD, SEMS Boosters Club, SEMS Film at Six, and the Special Olympics.
Samuel Jacob Oster (11th Grade)
Samuel attends Jesse Carson High School and completed a total of 253 hours of community service performing the following activities: Operation Christmas, Tractor Supply, Fan Collections, Visited Local Nursing/Veteran Home Patients, Student Council Halloween Outreach, Food Drives, Fundraiser Events, Eagle Projects, Volunteer Leader, Child Abuse Drive, 4-H Events, Chicken Show Fundraiser, Eagle Project Event, Marching Bands Parade, Trunk o' Treat, Rifle Instructor, County College Fair, Blood Drive, and Backpacks for Foster Children.
Coleton James Shugart (12th Grade)
Coleton attends East Rowan High School and completed a total of 242 hours of community service performing the following activities: Parents Night Out, Auxiliary Yard Sale, Founders Day, Fall Festival, Trunk o' Treat, BBQ Fundraiser, Chicken Fundraiser, Junior Firefighter Emergency Calls & Training, Consignment Sale, Parked Cars at the Fairgrounds, Masonic Lodge Fundraiser, East Seer Fundraiser, Homeless Shelter, Tarhell Kids Consignment, and the Cheerwine Fundraiser.
