We've pointed you toward Hoagie's Gifted Education website in the past and if you haven't yet visited, we highly recommend that you take some time to do it this month. It is overflowing with useful information for bright and gifted children as well as their parents. The look is a bit dated but don't let that deter you!

This month, we'd like to suggest you visit Success Stories in Gifted Education. If ever you feel alone on your journey, need some inspiration or to read about times when parent advocacy works, this page is a great place to go. Parent stories explore such topics and gifted children with a second exceptionality, grade-skipping, part-time schooling, successful partnering with local schools, and early entrance to university.

SEAC Meetings / Contact Your Rep

TVDSB and LCDSB hold meetings throughout the year to receive community input on the development and implementation of special education plans and policies. ABC Ontario is the only recognized group that sits on the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC), required by all school boards, to represent the needs of gifted learners. Below are the upcoming public meeting dates and times as well as the contact information for the SEAC representative in each board. Please contact them if you have any questions or concerns about your school-aged child's needs.

Your child does not need to have been already identified as gifted in order for you to get advice and support.
