What is Open Enrollment & When is it?
Open Enrollment is a period of time when all Avon Grove employees may elect or change their benefit options such as medical, dental, prescription, and vision insurance.
This year, Open Enrollment will begin on May 1 and will conclude on June 2, 2017. You will be receiving quite a bit of information about our benefits before and during that period of time. Please make sure to review all of the information carefully.

Alphabet Soup - HSA versus FSA - What's the Difference?
Many of you who will be converting to a High Deductible Health Plan on July 1 are wondering about the difference between Healthcare Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts. It's important to realize that Healthcare Savings Accounts can be used for medical, dental, prescription and vision costs and are not "use it or lose it plans." On the other hand, effective July 1, if you choose to participate in a Limited Use Flexible Spending Account, it can only be used for Dental and Vision expenses and it is a "use it or lose it plan." The good news is that nothing will change for Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts. They will continue to be calendar year plans beginning each January. Much more information will be shared about HSA and FSAs in the next two months.
Wellness Information
This month's issue of the "Live Well, Work Well" newsletter contains interesting information about arsenic content in rice and daily calcium requirements. it also contains an easy (and healthy) quiche recipe.
