My Academic Goal

S - I want to get at least a 90 average in science by the end of grade 10. I am not that strong in science so this goal will help me.

M - To measure my progress in science I will keep all my quizzes and tests to see my progress, as well as studying and making sure I am on track. I can keep track of all the work I do and it will help me with what I understand and what I don't. Science is a big priority for me so it will be easy to keep track.

A - To reach this goal I need to stay on track, and pay attention in class to make sure I understand everything. I will ask questions when I need help and review my work so I don't forget what I have learned over time. I am good in chemistry, however I need to improve in physics and biology. When I am learning those units I will pay extra attention and make sure nothing is distracting me. Doing good in midterms will also help me because I will know how much more harder I need to work, and how much time I need to spend on science.

R - This is an important goal for me because I need to be strong in science since that is what I want to go into in the future. I am not that good in science so therefore I need to improve. I want to become a doctor and science is the main subject that I need to focus on to help me achieve my other goal of being a doctor.

T - I want to get an 87 in science by the end of this grade 10 semester. I will do really good on midterms in order to achieve and bump by mark by the end of this school year during exam time.

My Volunteering goal

S - By the end of grade 12 I want to have at least 80 volunteer hours done. I want to finish all my volunteer hours by helping out in the seniors home by the hospital.

M - To measure my progress I will keep track of when I go, and how many hours I earn. This will help me to reach my goal, and maybe even earn more hours than I planned. Every time I go I plan on getting 4 hours, and slowly it will add up to 80 in the next two years. I can also keep track of any other volunteer work that I do and that might get me more hours.

A - To reach this goal I need to keep going volunteering at the seniors home on a routine in order to reach 80 hours. I will have to be committed to be the volunteer work to achieve this goal. I will need to take time out of my week and volunteer there so I can slowly build up to my goal. I will need to stay motivated and on track so get 80 hours at the seniors home.

R - This is an important goal because it is important to help volunteer, it makes you a good person yourself and you are helping out in the community. especially working in the senior home because they do not get a lot of attention and it makes them happy when kids come around to help. I also need to get 40 volunteer hours in order to graduate high school and this goal will help me in doing so.

T - By this year my goal is to get at least 40 hours done, so that way I am half way done my goal and all I will need for the next two years is another 40 hours. I will do 20 more hours in grade 11, and then 20 more hours in grade 12. This way I am not doing them all at once and I have time to do other things, and stay on track with my school work as well.

Being a neurologist can be emotionally stressful. They do many things that cause them emotional and mental stress. Sometimes they have to tell families that their loved one is in need of treatment or else they will die. They also have to worry about patients that cannot be treated because of how bad their disease or problem is. With all these things, the neurologist has many effect on the patient's life which can cause them severe stress. I would overcome these challenges by making sure that I am doing everything I can to help my patients feel better and comfortable. I will go above and beyond to treat my patients so that even if they do not survive I'll know I did everything I could have. I will also always have somebody I can talk to and always be there for me when I need it. This will help me to release my emotions and feel better. Having a therapist would help because it will provide me with the mental help that I need in order to be less stressed and less worried about my job.
Being a neurologist can also be very difficult because it is hard to balance a personal life. Neurologists work for many hours for patients that require special care. It is also hard to take a vacation off of work because you have to deal with patients that might need treatment right away. The doctors also have to have a flexible schedule so that they can come to work any time they are needed. Neurologists become actively involved in their patients lives so it is difficult for them to have much of a life on their own away from work. I would overcome this challenge by working in my own clinic rather than a hospital. If I work in my own clinic I am my own boss and I can decide when I want to leave or when I have something else to do. This way I can balance my own life and still provide my patients with the care and help they need without worrying about it.
Although working in a clinic might have its perks it can also be a challenge. They have to deal with the pressure of hiring staff and looking after their business as a whole. They need to have the money and savings to get the clinic running in the first place. They also need money to pay their staff and for supplies. I can overcome this challenge by building my team of neurologists before I start building my clinic. I can already have a team that will work with me to overcome some of the challenges that the clinic might give us. I can also have savings that will help me to pay for the clinic and my team can help me with that as well.
