State of the Schools
Cullman City Schools shown brightly at the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce State of the Schools annual event last week. This was an opportunity to share our successes, accomplishments, and accolades from the 2017-18 school year with members of our community.
SMART User Group PD
Our recent acquisition of SMART Interactive Panels provided us with the opportunity to receive free training from SMART. Christy Rogers from SMART has presented several after-school SMART User Group (SUG) PDs for our teachers. We were pleased to have Christy on campus again last week. There will be one more SUG on May 10th. Join Christy for some exciting tips about the use of the SMART Interactive Panel.

Space Camp Was Out of This World!
EES sixth graders and their teachers had a blast a Space Camp last week! The learning was tremendous and fun was a top priority!
Using Robust Vocabulary
These students are writing a paragraph using their robust vocabulary. They brainstormed, drafted, revised, edited, and then published a final product. They did a great job using the writing process.
Jump Rope for Heart T-Shirt Club
The WES Jump Rope for Heart T-shirt Club is made up of students who helped raise $50 or more to benefit The American Heart Association! Awesome job by these West students and families. Thank you!

Bicentennial Art
We are very proud of our Bicentennial art project. Many thanks to those who helped organize and bring this project together. It will be on display at the Burrow Museum for the Bicentennial Celebration. It will return to CCPS following the celebration and we will display it in the hall next to our library.
Poems for Peacocks
Last week the Peacock Class spent some time inferring using poems by Eloise Greenfield. Using poems is a great tool for building our ability to make inferences.
Earth Day
It was a busy Earth Day at CCPS! Our students had many opportunities to learn about their planet and the important role they play in caring for it.
