Centerview families,
As we jump into the month of March next week, I have to say the last few weeks have been great with many of our K-4 students back in the fold at Centerview. Students continue to amaze me in their response to health and safety expectations – washing hands, sanitizing, wearing of masks and distancing when appropriate. Teachers have been diligent with reminders and maintaining a cleaning routine in their learning spaces. It takes a team of students and staff members and I appreciate their collective efforts.
This is the week for our Centerview families to make any requests to change learning models for trimester 3. If your family wants to request a change, please contact the Centerview school office by Friday, February 26. Please note that any change request will impact your student’s teacher and the class roster.
As a reminder to our Centerview fourth grader families, the intro to Westwood virtual information sessions are this Thursday, February 25. Yep, that’s already tomorrow night! You won't want to miss this opportunity to learn more about next year’s transition to 5th grade at Westwood.
The Panthers for a Purpose virtual giving event is this Saturday, February 27 at 7 p.m. (Silent auction will be open until 8:30 p.m.) Get a sneak peek in the video included in today’s newsletter. This is a free, fun online event you won’t want to miss. You may even see some familiar faces from Centerview showin’ off and rockin’ some historic dance moves. Check it out!
Finally, let’s continue to be diligent with our drop-off and pick-up procedures. Patience is a virtue and with the sheer number of cars in the morning and afternoon my expectation is that we stay safe. As you know, my staff and I are there each day to assure a safe arrival and departure.
As always, give me a ring or swing in if you have any questions. I’d love to chat.
My best,
Mike
Updates for Extended Flex Learning families
Greetings,
We are heading into the third trimester of this school year. How can that be? This has been a year of learning for so many of us, children and adults alike. Distance learning has been an opportunity for growth and skill building; in some ways expected and many ways unexpected. It has been extremely rewarding for the staff who are focused on Extended Flexible Learning and for me. We continue to appreciate hearing your stories.
There are a couple of items in this week’s newsletter – In Case You Missed It - to remember. Our students can now check out library materials. See the details for each school. And, if you have a fourth grader in your household, please note the opportunity to learn more about Westwood and 5th grade tomorrow, February 25.
Teachers will be reaching out to you when it is time to return Wit & Wisdom Module 1 resources and pick-up Module 2. The next pick-up is being offered at different times for different grade levels based on when the new resources are needed. Details will come from your child’s teacher as the next scheduled pick-up draws near.
If your family wants to request a change from Extended Flexible Learning to learning at school full-time, you can make the request by contacting your school’s office this week (February 22-26). We’ll be working to honor all requests as we begin the new trimester.
The Panthers for a Purpose virtual giving event on February 27 is a great way to celebrate the end of the month while supporting a great cause. Note the details for this event in this week’s newsletter. Please reach out if you have questions or thoughts to share.
Take care,
Kimberly Fehringer
