College and Career Happenings

April 2016

Junior Sessions, ACT, and Visiting Colleges

Junior Sessions

Last week all juniors researched post-secondary plans with counselors in the College and Career Center. Students chose activities from three areas--Researching Majors and Careers, Researching 4-year Colleges, and Exploring College of DuPage. The activities are designed for continued use as students start to narrow their list of possible plans for after high school. These activities can be found on the Junior page under the heading "Information" on the right side. Scroll down to "April 4-6, 2016, Junior Presentation #2." Click here for a link to the Junior page. Contact your counselor or Mrs. Manderino (college and career counselor) with any questions about these activities.

ACT Testing

All juniors will be taking the ACT on Tuesday, April 19th. If students are interested in taking an additional ACT test, the next date is June 11, 2016. Students must register by May 6th for this test. Click here for ACT test dates and registration information.

The ACT Permission to Post Scores form was recently mailed home to all juniors. Signing it gives the school permission to post student's ACT score from the April 19th test. Families are encouraged to return this form. Some schools will accept this as the student's ACT score during the application process, saving families the fees charged by ACT to send the scores. If a student is not happy with the score, it can be removed from the transcript. Please reach out to your counselor if you have any questions about this form.
