Schools aims- To ensure that each individual student has the best possible outcomes educational wise and within the future.
The primary school is split into Key Stages 1 and 2 and then organised by ability and need rather than by age. This is to allow each individual student to get the best educational outcomes, by being with children with simular abilities. The ciriculum is highly differentiated to suit each individual childs needs. Each classroom is equiped with a ceiling hoist to allow children who are not able to walk with a walker or without support.
The secondary school is also split into key stages and then classes are organised by abilty. Key stage three has 5 classes and Key Stage 4 consists of five classes. Th school offers the students a variety of activities both onsite and off-site, this is done by the school working closely with BCA, the Pitstop and also with various workplacements.
It is critical that all emotional, behavioural and mental health needs are met. This allows the students to learn how to deal with their behaviours and why they behave like they do so. Within the school there is three alternative classes, these focuses on the students who have autism. They focuses on tasks that reduce stress levels and also help with life skills. TAC PAC is used through out the classes and is a sensory session done by teachers and SSA's it combines touch and music to promote communication and social interaction, sensory, neurological and emotional development.

Cleaners are important for ensuring is clean. At lunch time the hall becomes really messy, therefore needs to be cleaned and tidied to ensure that it is safe to use for lessons such as PE. This is so that any trip hazards can be avoided. Not only that but class rooms and also toilets must be cleaned. It is important that the staff and the non direct care workers, work closely together, this is to ensure that any messes or spillages around the school are cleaned up.
The receptionist is extremely important, Their responsability is to promote safety of the children. They are responsible for who is allowed access within the school. They are also responsible for passing messages on to the teachers or to parents to inform them on situations.
