Today Mr. Sawicki visited the STEM students to speak about engineering at Boeing! The students (and Mr. Turnbull!) designed and tested paper airplanes based on what they learned in the presentation!
Thank you for your feedback on the recent survey sent home. Keep your eye out for further information upon approval and final details, but due to the survey results and some new information, we are putting together the following trips for the 5th grade STEM students:
- Visit to a Princeton University Lab (March)
- Liberty Science Center (April): $13.00 per student
- Branch Brook Park Roller Skating Center (May): $13.00 per student
Our trip to Fidelity Investments was a big success! We learned about the importance of diversifying and maintaining our portfolios. Students have started to purchase and track their stocks in the stock market game!
Recently during STEM block, we were Chemical Engineers as we designed and created juices based on survey results. We are also becoming more familiar with elements as we play periodic table battleship and research elements to create a superhero. This week, we are starting volume!
