Facts and Information

  • Glass frogs are almost invisible because they are transparent. You can see right through their skin and inside their bodies!
  • Glass frogs live in rainforests in countries like Costa Rica. They live in trees and need to have flowing water near them.
  • Glass frogs like to eat insects, flies, and tiny spiders.
  • Glass frogs stay hidden during the day when snakes and birds are most active and would like to eat them.
  • Females lay their eggs on the underside of leaves over streams. when the tadpoles emerge, they drop right into the water.
