Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a relaxing winter break! Students, teachers, staff, and families all deserve a break from the hustle and bustle of school; it allows everyone to begin the new year with a fresh start, refreshed and ready to start learning!

As the program director at VLA, I am so proud of each and everyone of our teachers and feel so lucky to have them on this journey with me. I am also proud of our students and their amazing accomplishments! If your student has done something amazing (acceptance to college, community service, great score on the ACT, etc) let me know, I love to post about our students on the school webpage and VLA Twitter! Check out some of our student's most recent accomplishments here.

VLA Virtual Food Drive Update

Thank you to everyone who donated to the VLA Virtual Food Drive! With your support, we were able to not only meet our goal of $200 but exceed it! https://godspantry.fenly.org/drive/vla-virtual-food-drive/

VLA Student Mentors

The High School Student Ambassador club hopes to promote a sense of community by offering a peer mentorship program for VLA students in all grades. Participants will be matched with a Student Ambassador that will serve as a point of contact for questions and support in our virtual learning format. Elementary students will have the opportunity to read books and do fun activities with their mentors on Zoom. A January virtual meet & greet is being planned.
