Moodle Blog Post: Due Sunday by 11:59pm
TO DO BEFORE CLASS (by 11:59pm, Feb. 26):
Read Kumashiro's Posts Perspectives on Anti-Oppressive Education. Note: this is a slightly denser reading than we normally cover. There will be a lot of good vocabulary covered for the midterm exam, so be sure to underline or highlight words that are confusing to you.
Watch Papers: Stories of Undocumented Youth [53 min.] The documentary was produced in 2009. It is the story of undocumented youth and the challenges they face as they turn 18 without legal status.
Moodle Post
- In what way(s) does the institution of schooling prepare youth for their own particular futures, as opposed to a universal mode that is supposed to fit everyone?
- Read and respond to AT LEAST ONE other member of your family on this week's Moodle post. Think about how you can promote a productive dialogue.
