Staff Appreciation Week

Next week, May 1st - 5th, is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are excited to show our teachers some love for all they do for us. However, at East, we have the absolute best teachers AND support staff, so we like to refer to this week as STAFF Appreciation Week!

We have put together a list of suggestions for you and your child to consider as ways to celebrate their teachers and favorite support staff members throughout next week. These ideas are simple, as we know the smallest acts of kindness and recognition are often the most meaningful. If your child is able to participate in any of the appreciation activities, I can assure you, our staff will be most grateful.

  • Monday, May 1 - Write your teacher and favorite support staff member a note to tell them how they have positively impacted you this year!
  • Tuesday, May 2 - Show your teacher or favorite support staff member how much you care with a random act of kindness!
  • Wednesday, May 3 - Dress like your teacher or favorite support staff member OR wear their favorite color!
  • Thursday, May 4 - TREAT your teacher and favorite staff member super SWEET … bring them a small treat!
  • Friday, May 5 - Give your teacher a laugh! Write them a funny joke or draw them a wacky picture!

Thank you in advance for recognizing the amazing work our staff members do each and every day!

End of Year Testing Schedule

The spring 2023 EOG testing schedule for students in grades 3-5 has been shared. Add these dates to your calendar and ensure your child is at school on time on these days.

SCS End of Grade Testing Schedule

Attendance is always super important, but on EOG days, it is even more important! Ensure your child is present for school and on time to avoid having to schedule make up sessions. Make up testing sessions may interfere with end-of-year awards celebrations and the 4th quarter merit event. We do not want your child missing out on celebrations due to mandatory testing, but it is a possibility if they are absent or tardy.
