Kindergarten Beach Buddies

November 10-14

Hello Kindergarten Families!

50 days of kindergarten already! Wow! What a close little class family we have become. We spent the week thinking about owls, families, the 1950's, and SNOW!!!

50th Day of School

Homework

Some of you were interested in extra "homework" sheets coming home for your kindergartner. I sent packets home to those that shared interest at conferences. If I missed you or you didn't get on my original list and want to be, just let me know.

Razzle Dazzle

Remember to send in your Razzle Dazzle Reader tally sheet. We were 100% again last week. Mrs. Kuehn even brought us a special certificate and treat. Don't forget to add tallies for your books borrowed from school!

Golden Broom

Did you hear we earned the GOLDEN BROOM for having a clean classroom?! This broom is awarded to a new classroom each week. We are very proud! (Look above the SMARTboard in this photo.)

Let it Snow...

I have been impressed with the kinders ability to dress themselves for heading outside. Thanks for fostering this independence!! Some families are sending an extra pair of dry mittens for the ride home...feel free to do this if needed!

Scarecrow Day

Friday is Scarecrow Day! We'll be making felt vests in school, but the kinders are also invited to wear other scarecrow gear such as hats, flannel shirts, boots, jeans, etc. We will also use a small amount of face paint. If you DO NOT want your child using face paint, please let me know.

Technology to Share...

Be sure to stop by our blog to see our video about our newly learned Bat Facts.

iPad Apps

StoryMaker invites us make stories and write about them on the iPad.

Upcoming Important Dates:

Friday, November 21 - Scarecrow Day

Wednesday, November 26 - Fruit Feast

November 27 & 28 - No School

Next week we will read and write about scarecrows. We'll also work on fixing and fancying a writers' workshop story to prepare for a writing celebration.

Wishing you peace

and everything good,

Katie
