The First Day of School
Our first day of school was fantastic! What a great start to the year. It was great seeing so many familiar faces back on campus. And I was super excited to greet our new students, some of whom I had not yet had the chance to meet. Thank you to Home and School for the extra festivities. The decorations set the scene, it was super fun to greet Eden the Eagle (our school mascot) and the watermelon was super tasty and refreshing. Thank you to everyone that help support our first day.
And a special thanks to those who donated the watermelon. Sorry, mom and dad, for the watermelon covered shirts!
Gymnastic Tryouts
Gymnastic tryouts will be held on Monday and Wednesday Aug. 21 and Aug. 23 from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm in the gymnasium. KAES students from 2nd grade through 8th grade are encouraged to try out. If your child makes the team, gymnastics will be an additional cost of $50 per month starting in September.
7th and 8th grade Leadership Retreat
Each year our 7th and 8th graders participate in a special retreat designed just for them. Throughout their time together they bond as upper classmen while learning leadership skills and gaining inspiration and understanding on how to be good mentors to our younger students. This year our students braved the heat to grow stronger as a class of leaders and they had a lot of fun doing it.
Picking up children
The first couple of weeks of school can feel very crowded at dismissal time. Please be patient. As we get to know you and your children, we will become more efficient at getting you connected safely with your child.
Please go slowly in and out of parking spaces and be aware of the cars next to you.
If there are no spaces in front of the buildings, please park in the lot in front of the gym or the gravel parking lot east of the middle school.
If cars are behind you and there are no places to park, please go to the parking lots on the sides of the buildings or circle back around until a space is available. To create a safer dismissal please be sure to park before allowing children in and out of vehicles.
