President's Corner by Cree Sanford
Spring is such a busy time of year! Can you believe the school year is almost over! We have had some fun times this year and the fun is not over yet…. In May, we will have our last general PTO meeting on the 8th at 6:15, were our fabulous 1st graders will be performing. The terrific 3rd graders will be a having a Multi-Cultural day celebration on the 24th! They will get their passports stamped and have a chance to travel to several different countries! They can come dressed in their favorite cultural attire as they learn and experience the different cultures represented here at Copeland and throughout. We will need lots of parent helpers in different areas to make this day a success so be on the lookout for more information.
There are still a few more chairman positions to be filled. If you are interested in the following please let me or any executive board member know.
• Clinic Chair– Chairman works with the school nurse to coordinate the vision and hearing screening at the beginning of the year and then assists the school nurse throughout the year with various projects.
As always thank you for all that you do supporting the PTO and our school, we could not do it without you!

Volunteer of the month
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Activities
The year is flying by, but we also always need volunteers and helpers year round. If you do have ability to volunteer on a more regular basis, there are plenty of opportunities. You can learn about SRC (Science Resource Center), which is an excellent resource not only for the students, but for parents too. If you are able to volunteer for this, I promise you will learn something too! Please contact our SRC Chair Selina Sauceda at selina.sauceda@gmail.com for more info.
The library always needs volunteers, as do art and music. Please let me know if you want more information.
If you have any questions or comments regarding our VIPS program or would like to volunteer, please contact me at 713-829-0638 or mmcgah@gmail.com.
Thank you to everyone that came out for our movie night!! Everyone had a great time and our volunteers were spectacular as usual.
Spirit Gear by Amanda Ball
Help our little artists!
Only two months left of school, but still plenty of time to help in the art class room! Click the links to sign up to assist in 1st or 2nd grade art classes; 1st grade Sign Up and 2nd grade Sign Up.
If you don't have time to volunteer you can make a donation! The art department is collecting yarn, felt, thicker thread to sew with. Also, dessert or salad size styrofoam plates, puffy paint, brown paper grocery bags, q-tips and white coffee filters. Thanks, your donations are greatly appreciated!

Thank you for volunteering your time, our students enjoy the opportunity to shop and they wouldn't be able to do it without volunteers like YOU!
