Raider Update
A Weekly eNewsletter from Hastings Public Schools
Message from the Superintendent
Good afternoon Raider Families,
It continues to be the smaller things that give us a sense of being more typical. Our week ended with excitement at the middle school, as the annual Tug-of-War competition took place as part of a fundraising event. Lots of laughs, fun competition, and even a staff Flash Mob. Another significant event was prom, which took place last night. And most of our annual assessments are now completed. These events that signify the end of the school year are near and bring added excitement in our schools. We ask for your help in reminding students of our behavior expectations while at school. This also is a time of year that can add anxiety and stress because of the anticipated change in schedule and routine. It is a great time to check in with your students about how they are doing because we continue to see increased mental health needs. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your school principal or counselor if you need resources.

Summer Food Service Program
As the school year ends and summer begins, families might wonder about students' meals. Hastings Public schools will continue to offer free breakfast and lunch to students during the summer months. However, the way the program is offered will look different from the previous years, with the waivers from the USDA expiring on our last day of school. So what does this mean for you and your student?

- Breakfast is offered 7:30 am - 8:30 am.
- Lunch is offered 10:45 am -12:00 pm.
- Meals must be eaten on-site.
- Parents/guardians may purchase a meal. Breakfast is $2.65, and lunch is $4.10.
