OCT GT LEAD
LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR ACADEMIC DISCOVERIES
WELCOME BACK!
I hope that you have enjoyed your sweet children over the summer and made great memories together. As we start this new year, please know that I am available to conference with you at any time. When parenting a gifted/talented child, it is important to factor in the social/emotional well-being, as well as to look ahead and plan down the road several years. I am here to advocate for your children, as well as to be a resource for you to other opportunities within our district. One way you can stay connected and advocate for your child is through SAGE (Supporting and Advocating for Gifted Education), our parent advocacy group for gifted learners. They often bring in guest speakers, invite representatives for camps/programs to share, and provide scholarships for teachers to attend gifted conferences. Please consider joining this dynamic group by clicking on the first blue link below. The second blue link is to the website.
WHEN DOES GT LEAD BEGIN???
I'm looking forward to an awesome year together! While students are settling in with their new teachers, classrooms, and routines, I will be doing the following:
- In August/September I will be testing new students for GT services.
- If I am done testing early and if other campuses don't need my services, then I will have mini GT LEAD classes (revised schedule) with it being a short week: Sept. 3rd -6th
- The Official start of GT LEAD with a normal schedule is: September 9th-13th
- This week, you will be getting a reminder in your child's take home folder as well.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE!
