6th Grade Field Trip
Whitecaps Reading Club
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Hopkins Middle School 6th graders are participating in the West Michigan Whitecaps 2022 Reading Club, an incentive based reading program that provides your child the opportunity to improve their reading skills while earning two FREE tickets to the Whitecaps home game on May 25th, 2022.
Following is our game plan:
When: March 1st - 31st, 2022
What: Have your child read for 300 minutes during the month of March…that’s only 15 minutes a day over 20 days!
Record Progress: Record minutes read on Whitecaps form.
Bring to School: After the 20 Whitecaps jerseys have been colored in, or the equivalent of 300 minutes read, sign the form and have your student bring it to Mrs. Aleman.
Rewards: Your child will receive two tickets to a West Michigan Whitecaps baseball game on Wednesday, May 25, at 11:00 a.m.
Students who reach this goal will attend a Whitecaps baseball game on May 25th, 2022. The game starts at 11:00 a.m. and transportation will be provided. Adult guests going with sixth grade students are welcome to ride the bus. Adult guests can also meet students at the ballpark. Students and guests who ride the bus to the park will return to school on the bus by 2:00 PM. Adult guests who meet their student at the ballpark may drive their student home, but will need to sign out their student with a teacher.
****This year we have lawn seats, so students and guests may want to bring something to sit on.***
Our goal is to have every student complete the program by reading 300 minutes during the month of March and attend the Whitecaps game on May 25th. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your student’s advisory teacher.
Sincerely,
HMS Sixth Grade Team
