If you can't run, then walk,

If you can't walk, then crawl,

  • If you have any digital student work (a link, embed code, photo, video, etc. - no last names, please!) you would like to share, please fill out this short form (also posted on Harbins Technology Central front page) so Chris will have a record of it.

Grayson Days Race

Let's get a lot of staff members to join in the Grayson Days Race to support our students who are running. It will be a fun staff event and support kids at the same time. Our students set some race "records" last year so consider coming out to participate and cheer them on. You can walk or run. Our PTA wants to start an Archer Race this fall so perhaps we can join them once it is started.

Grace Time

With the new hours starting on March 3rd, Grace Leave will be 3:30 - 4:00 instead of 3:00 - 3:30. This will be the case from March 3-May 14. Any leave time prior to 3:30 each day would have to be input on the Go Portal as sick, personal or in-service leave.

Friendly Reminders

  • With so many snow days and exciting activities going on in recent weeks, it is a good time to offer reminders to students about expectations. Two important reminders that need immediate support are silent hallways and passports. Please be sure your students are silent in the hallway at all times and that they have a passport when traveling in the hallway without the class. We appreciate your consistent reinforcement of these expectations.

Tiger Tales:

Don't forget to let me know if you need a class set of wristbands if you are reading the Lemonade War as a class. Please send your students to the media center to get their wristband if they are reading the book on their own. Also don't forget to remind parents to let us know if THEY are reading the book - I can give wristbands to the students to give to their parents.

I have a close reading lesson that I created to go along with the book (I think it will work for grades 3 and up). If you want a copy of this please let me know.

Check out what is going on in the Media Center on this Smore Flyer - included is the story time schedule for this month, ideas for lessons and a list of the NEW BOOKS we got in this month - plus a special PRIZE for reading :)
