What Was The American Revolution?
The American Revolution was the political upheaval (a violent or sudden change or disruption) during the last half of the 18th century in which the thirteen colonies in North America (Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts Bay, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island and Providence Plantations) joined together to break free from the British Empire, combining to become the United States of America

The British surrendered at Yorktown, and the Treaty of Paris officially ended the Revolutionary war (the treaty recognized the United States as an independent country.) The Declaration of Independence was wrote and signed.
