INTRODUCTION

This monthly newsletter highlights actions of the Board and its meetings to inform employees and residents of Town business. All meetings of the town continue to be conducted remotely as a result of the March 12, 2020 order making modifications to the state’s Open Meeting Law to allow state, quasi and local governments to continue to carry out essential functions during the COVID-19 outbreak by conducting meetings remotely.

September 29, 2020 Special Town Meeting

Town Meeting Members were present and approved a borrowing authorization for the construction of a new Police Station and public safety radio system. The estimated project cost and borrowing request is $42 million. The debt exclusion would cost the median household, valued at $441,200, $194.14 per year. The payment will decline during the 20 year borrowing period.

You can request an absentee or early ballot by mail by sending a request to: Town Clerk, 100 Maple Ave., Shrewsbury, MA 01545, dropping a request in the town bill box in front of town hall or sending email with your signature scanned-in to: swright@shrewsburyma.gov
