FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK...
And hope does not disappoint
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It feels like Spring is close at hand. As we work to complete all of the IOWA testing and begin a new trimester, it is clear that the year is moving along very quickly. In less than two weeks, it will officially be Spring, and our Easter break is only four weeks away.
This week as we continue our journey through Lent our students will be celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation today and tomorrow. It is a great opportunity to recognize our need for forgiveness and to accept the importance of forgiving those who have hurt or offended us. Fr. Pete focused on the importance of forgiveness last Friday at our All School Mass.
Spring and Lent always coincide. It is fitting that these two seasons come together to remind us of Hope. All of us await the warmer weather, the sprouting of buds and flowers, the promise of a needed break and the gift of Easter. It is right and good to look forward to what is to come.
In this Sunday’s second reading, St. Paul reminds us, “And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts.” This is the deepest and greatest reason for our hope. Spring and Lent remind us to always be people of hope. Even in the midst of challenges and struggles, we can rely on the love of God.
I encourage us all to be people of forgiveness. In so doing, we prepare for Easter and for Spring and the new life that is offered. May we continue to challenge ourselves and our children to recognize what St. Paul tells us; And hope does not disappoint.
Sincerely,
Daniel A. Minelli
