WEEK ENDING IN 02/18/2022
Dear OSES Families,
February is Black History Month, honoring the triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout U.S. history. Among the notable events often spotlighted during Black History Month include the 1957 first integration of a public high school at Little Rock Central in Arkansas.
The Smile Mile is set for March 26th. Students from ages 5 to 11 may still sign up for this fun. Smile Mile shirts may be worn on Fridays.
If your student wears a mask to school please be sure to send them with extra!
With the Cooler weather among us, please make sure all students are in dress code. Non school jackets and accessories may be worn outside but not in the classroom. Remember that only 6th grade students may wear jeans to school.
Enjoy your long weekend, we will see you back here on Tuesday!

SMILE MILE-March 26th
Dear Parents,
We are reaching out to you with an opportunity in the community for a running race called Smile Mile. Smile Mile is a one mile race for children between the ages of five and eleven. For the past several years, Orlando Science Elementary School -Technology Campus, has won the Sly Johnson Award, “Largest Team Award.” It is my hope that we will be able to win the Sly Johnson Award again this year. If successful, OSES PE Department will receive a $500.00 grant to use for PE Equipment from Track Shack to aid in the enrichment of your son or daughter.
If having the largest team is not enough, your son and/or daughter will also have the ability to compete for the win in their age bracket, or just to have fun and be outdoors with their peers. It’s a win, win, win. We cannot do it without you! I hope that everyone signs up!!
All runners will receive a bib, t-shirt and a finisher medal. Dates and times for the race are listed below. Please feel free to email Mr Senter at matt.senter@orlandoscience.org if you have any questions about the race.
