Hugh Hartman March Newsletter

Love of Learning

Questions to ask my child about what they are learning:

  • Tell me a little about science?

  • What are SAM labs? How do they work?

    • All students at Hugh Hartman are working with SAM labs either in their classroom or at STEAM.

CONFERENCES

March 14th-18th - Your child’s teacher will be reaching out to you in the next day or two if they have not already. We are planning to use the same conference week day and time from our fall conference schedule. Please contact your child’s teacher with questions.

READ ACROSS AMERICA

March 2nd is National Read Across America Day, a day to celebrate our favorite activity, READING. The day was established by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1998 to help get kids excited about reading. Teachers have a number of activities planned in their classrooms. Here are the Hugh Hartman weekly read aloud themes.

  • Monday : Biographies

  • Tuesday : Books Written by Artist

  • Wednesday : Humorous Books

  • Thursday : Series and/or Chapter Books

  • Friday : Teacher’s Favorite

Kindness Week

Thank you to all the families for sending the supplies and volunteering in our Kindness Card Activities. We appreciate your kindness.

A big shout out to Mr. Bleakney’s class. His class decided to write birthday messages to a 16 year old boy who has recently gone through a challenging time.
