Ms. Zunguze's

Fifth-Grade News

So Much To Do, So Little Time!

  • After-School Arts begins this week! Check students' binders/backpacks for schedules!
  • Girls on the Run begins meeting in the gym on Tuesday, September 22nd, at 3:00 P.M.
  • Ms. Zunguze will be at a racial equity training all day on Thursday, September 24th. A substitute/guest teacher will be teaching all day; please remind students to be on their best behavior!
  • First quarter progress reports go home this week. This Saturday, the PowerTeacher net-based gradebook was unavailable due to maintenance, so I was only able to complete my online training in a marathon series of sessions on Sunday. As I am brand new to this system, I appreciate your patience while I grow more experienced and comfortable with using PowerTeacher's complex collection of tools. I will have all grades entered and reports printed/sent home by Thursday (if not earlier).
  • Please remember that there is no school on Friday, September 25th, nor is there school on Monday, September 28th.
  • With the limited amount of time available on Friday, September 25th, I have given special priority for family conferences to the sixteen students who have been unable to schedule home visits.
  • On Tuesday, September 29th, please join us for the International Potluck!

Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you, Anne Callihan, our Room Parent, and all who pitched in to make our first school dance of the year a great success. Rumor has it that $1300 was raised to support our field trips! Also, thank you to everyone who has supported Thursday folder distribution. Here are some upcoming ways to stay involved:
