Principals of Forces and Motion

DESCRIBING MOTION
This section is all about motion and how to see motion. Motion is when one thing is changing position. For example when one car goes from one side of the track to the other it is changing position.
TYPES OF MOTION
Objects that have a repeating motion move in a pattern. Their pattern is the motion repeats over and over again.
HOW FORCE AFFECTS MOTION
A force is a push or a pull. A force can cause an object to speed up, slow down, or change direction. If the force is gravity, it will pull you in a downwards motion. If you have balanced forces, it will not change the motion of an object. Friction is a force that happens when two objects rub against each other. Friction acts against motion.
VOCABULARY WORDS
POSITION Of an objects location.
MOTION A change of position.
GRAVITY Is the force of a traction between two. Gravity is always a pull never a push.
BALANCED FORCES Balanced forced do not change the motion of an object.
FRICTION Is a force that acts
