Upton Update

June 14, 2021

Dear Families,

Thank you all for your support this school year! It was wonderful to have the chance to work with students in-person while providing an opportunity to continue to work with students remotely. This year was filled with challenges, but we truly tried to make the best of it for your children. We are looking forward to having students back in school all five days next school year.

Enjoy your summer! For those of you that are returning to Upton, I look forward to working with you in the fall. For those of you that will be leaving Upton, I wish you success and happiness as you enter a new school. Best of luck to our 5th graders! You will be missed.

Half Day on Thursday

Thursday, June 17, is our last day of school. Students will be dismissed at 12:05 p.m. We will be sending lunches home with those students who are interested.

Last Day in the Building- Friday, June 18

Friday, June 18, is our last day in the building. Mrs. Catchpole & I will still be working for a couple more weeks, but we will be at Oak Ridge Elementary (located on 13 Mile and Rochester Rd.). Our building will be closed due to all the renovations taking place this summer. We are very excited for the changes that will be taking place at Upton, but know we will all need to be patient. We look forward to the start of school on September 7!

Please continue to complete your daily screening prior to 8:00 a.m.

Congratulations, Mr. Friesen!

We want to wish Mr. Friesen well as he looks forward to his retirement. He has taught and coached a lot of students over the many years he has dedicated to Royal Oak Schools. He will be missed!

Chromebooks

Your child is welcome to keep their Royal Oak Schools provided Chromebook over the summer for summer learning opportunities.

If you would like to return your child’s Royal Oak Schools Chromebook, you may have your child bring the device to school during this last week and give it to his/her classroom teacher. We ask that you ensure when returning the Chromebook to include the Chromebook Charger.
