Message from the desk of Scott Feldkamp

Dear VCMS Families,

It’s hard to believe that it is the end of the 2022-2023 school year. What an amazing year. I am

so very proud of the teachers, staff, students, parents, and community members who have done so much to make learning a priority, caring and supporting each other in both the best and worst of times, and showing each other grace. As you prepare for summer I hope there are incredible adventures planned, many celebrations and gatherings, and lots of family time spent together. As those of you who are leaving VCMS for high school or other adventures, I wish you all the best in your journeys.

I hope this year each and everyone of our students, teachers, and parents connected with

something at VCMS. There truly is something for everyone here. As the 2022-2023 school year comes to a close, I want to thank you personally for your support. I also want to thank our parents for trusting us with your children. VCMS is a wonderful school in a wonderful community. I look forward next school year where we get the opportunity to Connect with one another even more, Recharge ourselves with the excitement of another new year with new adventures, and continue to Reimagine how we teach, learn, and connect with each other even more.

If during the summer any Homeowner Associations that reside in the VCMS district would like me to attend an annual, semi-annual, or monthly meeting; I am happy to do so (availability permitting of course). During these visits, I will share information about Vickery Creek Middle School and provide insight to middle school life. If you are an HOA board member and would like to have me attend one of your HOA meetings, please click on the link below.

Values

Jr. Beta

Junior Beta is a club for students that exists for the whole school as well as for the members. The aim of the national organization is to promote citizenship and leadership; to encourage fellowship and cooperation; to reward effort and achievement; and to inspire honesty and tolerance. Congratulations to our recent inductees of Vickery Creek's Junior Beta Club. We can't wait to see the incredible ideas you have to serve our school and community!

8th Grade Holocaust Survivor Visit

Mr. Hershel Greenblat, a Holocaust survivor from the Breman Museum, spoke to VCMS eighth graders May 17th. Students were mesmerized by Mr. Greenblat’s testimony of hardship, courage and hope.

Yay! It's summer break - the most magical time of year! As you go forth to enjoy your time in the sun don't forget to bring a book. Some of the best books I've read have been enjoyed poolside. If you need to beat the heat, please consider joining the Forsyth County Public Library for their summer reading program. For more information please click the link below:

See y'all in the fall (or really late July - early August)!

Ms. Tafuto

Here at VCMS, reading is a cornerstone of our world. We believe that reading for pleasure is a clear way to continue learning for both students and adults. Each month, we love to share the books staff members are reading.
