Personal Research On Basically Everything!
Definition of a PROBE—to examine or search into; thoroughly investigate
PROBE Guidelines:
o Begin with two pages facing each other.
o Draw a one inch border completely around the two pages.
o Decorate the border in a theme that matches the topic. Color all pictures. There should be very little white showing in your border.
o Create a title using the assigned topic on the left side of the page.
o Write the date underneath the topic.
o On the left side, you will also need to cite the sources where you obtained your information. This
might include your textbooks, internet, newspapers, etc. Inside a box, complete the following statement: “My source of information was ___________________________.”
o Fill the rest of the left side with illustrations or pictures that relate to the topic. Pictures may be drawn, printed from the internet, or clipped out of newspapers or magazines. Color all pictures. There should be very little white showing on the left side.
o The right side will be for your writing and research results. You will need to fill the right side with appropriate and organized information about the topic you have researched.
o You will be evaluated on how well you organize details that support the factual information you write about. You will also be evaluated for spelling, grammar, and punctuation/capitalization.
o A rubric will be given for each PROBE. You will be assigned PROBES in each content area throughout the year. Slavery PROBES will be DUE on or before WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 20th.
