Winter Weather Months
In preparation for our "winter weather" months, we want to take time to share the Monroe School District (MSD) Winter Weather Procedures for school closures, delays, and early dismissals. https://www.monroe.wednet.edu/about/news (Scroll down to Inclement Weather Procedures)
Our top priority is always the safety of staff, students and visitors when making decisions. We recognize that canceled school days disrupt family schedules and that the school year may have to be extended. The decision to close schools is not an easy one and many factors are taken into consideration when making such a decision.
It is important to understand that the road conditions of our entire district are taken into account when a delay or closure decision is made. The roads in one part of our district may be clear while other areas are struggling with snow and/or ice. It is not possible to close some schools in the district while leaving other schools open.

Safe Schools Alert App
Safe Schools Alert has launched their app for both iPhone and Android devices. We have attached the instructions to download the app. Please consider asking your student to download this app. This is the tool that allows students (and parents) to report concerns regarding harassment, bullying, and student safety. This is a great new tool that will allow anyone to report concerns to us much easier.
Please go to the App Store for iPhone or Google Play for Android and download the free SafeSchools Alert Mobile App:
1. Search for the SafeSchools Alert Mobile App in the App Store or Google Play.
2. Select “Download” to add the free app to your mobile device.
3. The first time you open the app, you’ll be asked to submit our district’s four-digit code 1003 in order to connect your tip submissions to our district team. After the code is submitted, you’ll be asked to confirm your district's name: Monroe School District.
4. Once the district name is confirmed, you’ll see the modules that are available to submit tips through (e.g. bullying, safety, violence).
5. You’ll see a confirmation page after submission to confirm that your tip was successfully submitted.
6. Any tips that are submitted will automatically be routed to the appropriate administrators.
7. If we send any messages or replies to your tip, you will automatically receive a push notification. Thanks for helping to keep our district safe and connected! Our District Code is: 1003 Our District Name is: Monroe School District
