Dear Lord
Help us to remain calm even
When we tingle with unease
When we throb with insecurity
When we itch with frustration.
Infuse us with Your Spirit,
Calm our anxieties,
Restore peace to our being, Amen.
Term Three, Week Eight - 9 September 2020

FIRST EUCHARIST
I ask that all members of our school community keep our First Communicants in their thoughts and Prayers this week, as they take this important step in their faith journey. Thank you to Aimee Mitchell and Rhianna Shirren who, with the support of Mike Sibbald, have suitably prepared our students for this Sacrament.

FIRST EUCHARIST PARENT MEETING
Our Parent Sacramental Meeting on Tuesday evening, 1 September at St Brigid’s Church, was very well attended and where important information relating to First Eucharist, was presented. Our guest presenter, Fr Greg Donovan, provided interesting insights into our spiritual and religious traditions, and ways in which we can address the challenges we all face in our daily lives. I would like to thank Fr Benny for inviting Fr Greg to be a part of our sacramental preparation as well as Fr Liam for hosting the evening. The cheese and wine were much appreciated by all who attended.
YEAR FOUR REFLECTION DAY
Congratulations to the Year Four Classes and their teachers, Ms Mitchell and Mrs Shirren on their First Eucharist Reflection Day. SWIMMING LESSONS (PRE-PRIMARY - YEAR TWO)
I remind all Pre-Primary-Year Two parents that swimming lessons will be taking place in Weeks 9 and 10 of this term. At this point, all swimming enrolment forms should have been returned to class teachers. If you have not yet returned this form, please do so by tomorrow. During swimming lesson weeks, students are to wear their sport uniform to school with their bathers underneath. Students are required to bring their thongs to wear to and from the pool – students will not be allowed to wear their thongs for the entire day. We have been advised by Swan Active that if parents wish to attend swimming lessons there will be a $2.50 entry fee payable.
HELP STOP THE SPREAD AND STAY HEALTHY

CODE OF CONDUCT
Last newsletter I wrote about the Code of Conduct and its implementation at St Brigid’s School. The Code of Conduct clearly states the behaviours and expectations required by all staff, students, parents and volunteers and anyone who spends significant time at St Brigid’s. The Code of Conduct can be found on our webstie at https://stbrigidsms.wa.edu.au/images/pdf/Code_of_Conduct.pdf Throughout the rest of the school year, I will briefly outline what each Conduct Statement is and highlight a few examples of what this might look like from a parent’s perspective.
Conduct Statement 1: You act safely and competently.
The following examples are ways parents can adhere to Conduct Statement 1:
- Drop off and pick up your child in accordance with school guidelines. This includes proper procedures for late drop offs and early pickups and entry onto school grounds during the school day.
- Ensure your child is at school on time, dressed appropriately and has the necessary school supplies, including appropriate food.
- Information and photos of students is not to be taken and/or circulated without the express permission of the individual student’s parents. This includes discussion of students, families and staff on the internet and amongst community members.
- Be mindful and vigilant of your child/ren's internet activity.
- Seek advice and assistance from experts and/or the school principal/staff as necessary.
