ALICE Information
We are excited to share that LVISD now has a free online ALICE Training portal available to all parents and family members of students in our district. ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) is an emergency response protocol designed to prepare our students, staff, and families to prevent, mitigate, respond to, and recover from a critical incident on our campuses. The ALICE Training Institute has helped more than 5,000 school districts get prepared, including LVISD – and now our parents and families can take the same training provided to our students and staff. Classroom Concerns and Questions
Cafeteria Charge Policy
La Vernia ISD has adopted a new charge policy for the 2019/2020 school year. This policy allows students to charge up to 5 meals. Each student will be allowed to charge a maximum of 5 meals before he/she will receive an alternate meal consisting of a ham & cheese sandwich, fruit & milk. We will continue to send communication home with students and continue to send notifications by email and phone call. Please enroll in Titan to manage your student's cafeteria balance.

Campus Communication
Campus contact information along with dates, district calendar, parent portal, transportation updates, lunch menus and other important documents can be found on our district website: https://www.lvisd.org/. We also encourage you to join our campus Facebook page (La Vernia Intermediate School and La Vernia Intermediate PTO) and Remind 101 (text @lvinter to 81010) for quick reminders and updates. A bi-monthly campus newsletter will be sent out via email which will include upcoming events and campus highlights. Please make sure your email address is up-to-date in our records. Your child’s homeroom teacher will also provide you with specific information regarding classroom and teacher communication. Parent portal access is a great tool to help you monitor your child’s grades and attendance. Once again, thank you for your partnership as we take on another great school year together!
