Dr. Rachel Williams, Principal
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Thanks for bearing with us through probably the toughest week we will face this year as we had to dissolve a 5th grade class and open a 3rd. We understand the district’s ten day process is never easy, but what we find is very quickly our students typically adjust beautifully. I wish I could explain to you the time and effort our staff puts into class placement. I have never worked at a school where personnel put so much care into this process. It is so dynamic because in the upper grades we are challenged with departmentalization, class size requirements, and continuous achievement levels. We thank you so much for supporting us through this week and the year to come.
As you all know by now, Ms. Kassel will be returning to third grade and will be welcoming her new class on Tuesday. I want to give a huge high five and thank you to the moms listed below for assisting in moving items from one classroom to another. They gave up time during the school day to put in some sweat equity! These ladies rock.

Also this week, we hosted over 30 principals and Northwest Learning Community Staff at CCES for a monthly meeting. I want to personally thank Colt mom, Dawn Olmsted, for prepping all of the food and making our event so special. Her food was delicious!
On Wednesday night we welcomed several Watchdog dads to Friendship Park for our annual kickoff. Thanks to all of the dads who came out and participated. If you missed it, please look for information via email coming soon. I hope you enjoy a picture below from the evening.
Finally, I want to thank the Milton Eagles football team for coming to read to all of our kindergarten classes last Friday. Everyone had a ball and made it a day to remember. Just as last year, we look forward to welcoming them prior to each home game. Please enjoy a few pics.
I hope you have a great weekend. Don’t forget next Friday is a CCES Release Day and students do not attend school. Our teachers will be in a full day training, so make sure you have planned ahead. Also, in case you have not heard, November 6th (election day) is now a day in which students do not report to school. March 8th, previously scheduled as a teacher workday, has become a regular school day. Please make these adjustments to your calendars.

Curriculum Nights Next Week!
This year, our parent conference window is October 1-5. October 5th is a teacher workday and teachers will be scheduling the majority of their conferences on this day. Additional conferences can be scheduled after school from Oct. 1-4, depending on the teacher's availability. Please check your calendar and come prepared on Curriculum Night to make an appointment for a personal conference. This will be your special time to get feedback from the teacher and address the individual needs of your child.

Thank you.
Calling all volunteers!
Everyone interested in volunteering with students at Crabapple Crossing will need to register with Fulton County Schools prior to their volunteer shift. Fulton County Schools (FCS) updated their system over the summer and all volunteers, both new and returning, will need to complete the online registration. The process is simple and will take about 20 minutes to complete from home. To begin, follow the link, http://www.fultonschools.org/en/community/Pages/VolunteerRegistration.aspx.
Please complete this online registration at least 48 hours before you arrive at school to volunteer. Also, please be prepared to present your driver’s license to the front office staff the first time you come to volunteer.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Fulton County Schools Code of Conduct
Parents are asked to review school system rules and submit an acknowledgement signature form at the beginning of each school year.
The updated 2018-2019 Student Code of Conduct & Discipline Handbook web link is listed below. A hard copy may also be obtained in our school office.

Teachers will be reviewing the Code of Conduct with students during the first two weeks of school. It is important that parents also discuss the Code of Conduct and potential consequences with their children.
After reviewing the Code of Conduct, parents are requested to submit the Acknowledgment of Electronic Receipt by clicking on the link below. A hard copy can be obtained in the school office.
