Stephen F. Austin State University
Stephen F. Austin State University is located deep in the piney woods of East Texas in the town of Nacogdoches. Affectionately referred to as "Nac", Nacogdoches is the oldest town in Texas. SFA first opened its doors in 1923 and was known for being the state teacher's college. Since then, it has grown to offer 83 undergraduate majors and 120 areas of study within six academic colleges - business, education, fine arts, forestry and agriculture, sciences and mathematics, and liberal and applied arts. SFA is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and prides itself on being a smaller university. They enroll approximately 13,000 students and offer a student-to-faculty ratio of 19:1 as well as an average class size of 26. This allows professors to get to know their students and provide classroom instruction tailored to each student's needs and goals. Axe'em Jacks!
