Health and Safety Protocols

While we are excited and encouraged by the progress Vermont has made with regard to the pandemic, we know that there will be some guidance issued by the Agency of Education and the Vermont Department of Health to keep Vermont students and teachers safe and healthy as we enter the fall.

At the time of this publication, we have not received guidance relative to masks. Once we have this information, we will share that with all of you, via email.

Last year, we had an efficient drop-off and pick-up procedure, as we were not able to welcome families into the building. Along with the mask guidance, we expect to receive guidance regarding visitors in the building, which will impact how you drop-off and pick-up your student(s). Once we have this information, we will share the drop-off and pick-up procedures with you, via email.

We anticipate that our students will be able to eat and socialize during their designated lunchtimes! Here is the schedule your student(s) will likely follow:

  • 11:20: PK-3, PK-4, and K will enjoy lunch in the Early Childhood Wing
  • 11:30: Grades 1-4 will enjoy lunch in the multi-purpose room
  • 12:05: Grades 5-8 will enjoy lunch in the multi-purpose room

Summer Open House!

Do you have a friend interested in enrolling their child at BJAMS? Tell them about our upcoming Summer Open House on August 3rd at 9:30am.

They may register for the event here.

Don't forget! We offer a $250 tuition referral discount if a new family names you as their referring family when they apply. This credit is applied to your 2021-22 tuition in December after the family completes their first trimester.

New Family Orientation

Mrs. Nordenson will host a New Family Orientation on August 16th at 3pm just before the K and PK social. All new families enrolled in PK - 8th grade are invited to attend. This is an opportunity for new families to tour the school and to ask questions about the upcoming school year.

Soccer Update

We are anxiously awaiting the athletics update from the Agency of Education and Vermont Department of Health regarding sports guidance for the fall. To assist with our planning process, here is a preliminary update with where we are with regard to fall soccer.

  • We are hoping to gather some preliminary numbers for our teams. Please take a moment to complete this form to let us know if your student in grades 1-8 is interested in playing this fall.

  • We are seeking coaches for our 3/4 and 5/6 co-ed teams. Ideally, practices will happen after school, one or two days per week with games typically on Saturdays. If you're interested, pleases reach out to Coach Bu at bbuczek@bjams.org.

  • We would like to hold our first training(s) the first week of school. We will confirm a training schedule once we have a bit more information regarding coaching, player interest, and state guidance.

Upper School Math Update

We are pleased to welcome Mr. Joshua Hunt to the BJAMS teaching faculty! Josh is a native of Barton, Vermont and currently resides in Burlington. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Northern Vermont University and joins us with four years of teaching experience, including teaching middle school math and high school biology. Please join us in welcoming Josh to the BJAMS family!
