May Newsletter 2023
Amy Belle Elementary
Principal's Corner
I can't believe it is the last full month of the 22-23 school year! This year has just flown by! When we reflect on all that was accomplished and all of the experiences that we have had with our students, it has truly been a successful year. This will be an exciting last month of school. We have a few more fun opportunities in the upcoming weeks. We will be taking our all school field trip to Camp Minikani again this year. It is always a fun filled day and brings our school community together. Being able to have the entire school go to camp is always a highlight for students and staff. We will also be having a field day in June with more details coming soon. This will be a chance for students to spend some time outdoors having fun with their class. It is wonderful to be able to get active and enjoy the weather on field day! We will also have some low-key activities incorporated into the day for students that like those types of experiences.
We have one last character trait that we will be working on for the month of May, and that is creativity! We will define creativity as using imagination to create something new or solve a problem. At home, try to point out the creative things your child does. Also, look for opportunities for you and your family to get creative as you encounter certain situations or have problems that need to be solved!
As the weather improves and the days get long, it also gets trickier for students to focus. This can make the end of the school year challenging for some students. Please remind your child(ren) that we have important work to do until the year ends, so it is very important to complete their work, be at school and give their best effort until our last day. We always appreciate your support!
Sincerely,
Katie Kohel
